The Six Wives of Henry VIII

  • Opposite are six  portraits done on canvas using acrylics.  They formed part of a Tudor historical calendar, and were sold in aid of Diabetes UK.

  • The "Meet the Tudors calendars and postcards SOLD well, and contributed towards sizable donations to charity.

I have tried to capture the different traits, characteristics and personalities of Henry the VIIIth's wives.  For example, Catherine Parr nursed Henry in his final months, hence the nursing mask. As for Steampunk?  Well that's artistic licence!!!


The quiet village of Helmsley is the setting for a snow scene set in winter.  It is painted using watercolour line and wash techniques on Bockingford 300lb paper.
